Missouri sales tax changes take effect April 1

The Missouri Department of Revenue has announced a number of sales tax rate changes, effective April 1, 2013.  You can find the full list at taxrates.com 

The following counties will experience changes to sales tax rates:

  • Boone County: to impose a 1/4% children's services sales tax;
  • Johnson County: to increase existing 1/4% E-911 emergency sales tax to 1/2%. Also applies to the sale of domestic utilities and use tax;
  • Jackson: to impose a 1/4% storm water/local parks sales tax;
  • Oak Barry CID: to impose a 7/8% district sales and use tax. District includes a portion of the city of Kansas City, Clay County, and no unincorporated areas;
  • Raymore Galleria CID: to impose a 1% district sales tax. District includes a portion of the city of Raymore and no unincorporated areas;
  • Kansas City Downtown Streetcar TDD: to impose a 1% district sales tax. District includes a portion of the city of Kansas City, Jackson County, and no unincorporated areas. Fully overlaps the Performing Arts CID and the 1200 Main/South Loop TDD; and
  • Poplar Bluff Regional TDD: to impose a 1% district sales tax. District includes a portion of the city of Poplar Bluff and no unincorporated areas. Fully overlaps the Poplar Bluff Conference Center TDD.
