The Hollywood Casino, set to open next year, held a job fair to fill 1,000 positions.
OVERLAND PARK, Kansas - Hundreds of applicants tried their luck on a new career in Overland Park on Saturday.
The Hollywood Casino hosted a major job fair at the Overland Park Convention Center to fill 1,000 jobs at their new Kansas Speedway Casino.
The attraction has openings in a wide variety of departments, including food service, security and facility management.
Anthony Jackson who's been looking for a full-time job for nearly two years, says he's glad some full-time jobs are finally opening up.
"It's easier now, since I've been putting my resume in and just getting my name out there. A couple years ago it was really, really hard just because there was no jobs out there."
Hiring for some positions will take place as early as next month and continue into 2012.
The new casino is scheduled to open in February.
