KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo., will have a brand new look as well as more stores and more parking next year.
Highwoods Properties is planning to start a major renovation on the old Halls building. When developers are finished, there will be eight new retail tenants and at least one new restaurant. The new building will be called Plaza 2-1-1. Parking will be also be reconfigured to add 100 more spaces.
Highwoods executives have stated that the new design will replace Halls with multiple, unique retail stores offering a pedestrian-friendly shopping experience at the street level and delivering a more comfortable parking environment for customers.
Construction is set to begin in September. The project should be completed next year.
