Man shot dead in family dispute, police searching for two men involved

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person was shot dead in a family dispute Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo.

A man and a woman were arguing in the parking lot of the Blue Valley Court Townhouses around 3:30 p.m. when the woman's uncle came outside to intervene, according to police. That's when the man fatally shot the uncle and fled in a late-model silver Dodge Avenger.

Police are searching for the man and the driver of the getaway car.

The scene was tense as friends and relatives of the victim arrived at the complex. Police had to tackle and handcuff two relatives as they tried to charge into the crime scene, and a third relative was also handcuffed as a precaution.
