9 people arrested for DWI at KCPD sobriety checkpoint

Nine people were arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated overnight at a sobriety checkpoint organized by area law enforcement agencies.
Of the 308 vehicles stopped by the Kansas City Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, more than 50 people were cited or arrested for various reasons, according to a news release.
The checkpoint was set up at Blue Ridge Boulevard and Holiday Drive between 11 p.m., Friday, and 4 a.m., Saturday.
