Attorney for accused killer wants a new judge for her client

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The attorney for a former pastor accused of murder wants a new judge on his case.

Molly Hastings filed a motion Monday in Jackson County Court on behalf of her client, David Love.

Love is charged with the March 2010 murder of Randy Stone inside Stone's Independence insurance office.

Love served as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Independence.

Stone was part of the congregation.

A family member of Stone's told NBC Action News after the killing Love gave the eulogy at Stone's funeral.

Other family members claimed the ex-pastor and Stone's wife carried on a years-long affair.

Police and prosecutors have not released a motive for the crime.

Love resigned from the church and moved to South Carolina.

He left the pulpit and had been working as a truck driver.

Authorities brought Love back to the area in December.

No new court date has been set.
