KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Investigators discovered a body Wednesday morning in Kansas City's Ruskin Heights neighborhood during a search for a missing teenager.
Police were called to the 11500 block of Food Lane Wednesday morning regarding the well-being of Montee Ross, a missing 14-year-old boy.
Police found a body buried in an open area near the complex during the investigation, according to police. Authorities are waiting for a warrant to enter an apartment and dig up the body. Police have not confirmed that the body buried belongs to Ross.
He is an 8th grader at Hickman Mills Jr. High School.
Police said he was last seen in his neighborhood at 11 a.m. Sunday. His mother left to walk to a store with his older brother and sister. Police said the brother came back and said Ross left with a friend.
