Carrie Waldo sentenced to 30 days after ferret attacks son

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. - Northwest  Missouri woman, Carrie Waldo, whose infant son lost seven fingers when he was attacked by a ferret has been ordered to undergo a 30-day "shock time," in jail per  judges orders on Friday.

Waldo and her husband, Ryan Waldo, were accused of leaving the 4-month-old baby unsupervised with the ferret in January 2011.

They initially claimed they were asleep in their Grain Valley home at the time, but cell phone records showed the couple was not home when the baby was injured.

In June 2011, after pleading guilty to second-degree child endangerment, she was sentenced to two years of probation and 30 days in a drug treatment program, which she failed to complete.

Ryan Waldo pleaded guilty to second-degree child endangerment and was ordered to serve 40 hours of community service and take parenting classes.
