Armed men rob City Thrift Store in Kansas City, Mo.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The City Thrift Store at 7740 Wornall, in Kansas City, Mo., was robbed at 7 a.m. Thursday by two men each armed with a gun.

The store is a fundraising arm for the City Union Mission where donated merchandise is sold with proceeds helping to feed and house the homeless at the mission.

Each stole cash and one employee's cell phone.  No one was hurt.

Witnesses later told police the two men walked in with a group of employees who thought they were new workers

The police report indicates one man found the office where a manager was sitting at her desk.  The suspect walked in, grabbed the cash and walked out the door.  The manager told police she saw a gun but the man never said a word to her and he did not point the gun at her.

"We are just glad no one was hurt," Jon Capp, CEO of the City Union Mission, said, "Things can be replaced, people can't so we are grateful no one was hurt."

The two gunmen walked out of the front door and disappeared.

Kansas City Missouri police detectives have not identified the two suspects but are on the case and looking at surveillance video.

In the meantime, City Union Mission executives are upgrading their security measures.
