DNA leads to Raymore burglary charges

HARRISONVILLE, Mo. - Four people have been charged in a 2012 home burglary after police were able to connect up the suspects' DNA from the homeowners knife.

Clay County prosecutors say four suspects, Laquisha Fears, Jermaine Williams, Pierre Ward and Laurent McCambry, have each been charged with six counts stemming from a home invasion in May 2012 in the 600 block of Cedar Ridge Drive.

Prosecutors said the armed suspects ordered the occupants of the home to go downstairs. On the way down, the homeowner punched one of the suspects, setting off a struggle that ended when the homeowner stabbed the suspect in the back with a kitchen knife.

Police eventually recovered the knife, and using the DNA from the blood of the suspect, connected the burglary suspect to a McCambry, who was already in the system from previous crimes in Kansas.
