CLAY COUNTY, Mo. - A Kansas City man received a 100-year prison sentence for two counts each of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
A jury convicted Daniel Dumond Brown Sr. on Nov. 7 for two robberies in the Northland. Brown was accused of a June 30, 2011 robbery of the Gladstone Pizza Hut and a July 2, 2011 robbery of the Arby's in Liberty.
Brown was arrested on July 2, 2011 near the Sutherland's Lumberyard on Missouri Highway 291 just after the report of the Arby's robbery. According to court testimony, police video showed Brown putting money behind the wheel of his vehicle during the arrest.
Police said victims at the Arby's identified Brown as the robbery suspect. Brown later developed as a suspect in the Gladstone Pizza Hut robbery.
Brown's sentence will consist of four consecutive 25-year terms for the crime.
