FBI: Man robs Kansas City credit union

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Authorities have released images of the suspect in a Kansas City, Mo., credit union robbery.

It happened at about 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Community America Credit Union, 5400 NE Antioch Rd., according to FBI spokeswoman Bridget Patton.

The suspect was wearing long black athletic shorts and a long-sleeve white shirt. He carried a small black duffle bag and was wearing a yellow and black ball cap, Patton said.

He showed a weapon and demanded cash from a teller. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber was last seen running away to the southwest, Patton said.

Two schools - Davidson Elementary and Northgate Middle - in the North Kansas City School District, as well as the district's central office complex, were locked down for about an hour while authorities searched for a suspect.

District officials said those lockdowns have been lifted and learning was never affected by them.
