Friends say a father of two was killed outside his own home during a dinner party Saturday night by other long time friends.

"There was no reason. No reason whatsoever," said Josh Bockover. "He was prideful, ya know. Loved his family."

Bockover was friends with Danny Frederick for years. He was stunned to hear that a fight at his home led to his death.

"There was an altercation, um, by the time April got in there, she jumped on Danny 'cause other people were hitting him and they apparently tried to do the same to her, other people came in and finally ran it out," said Joseph Valdiviez, friend of Frederick's for 26 years.

Raymore Police told 41 Action News they are investigating but that there are no suspects. They plan on releasing more information on the case later this week.

Friends of Frederick sent 41 Action News recent Facebook screen captures from the men they believe beat Frederick to death. One post read in part, "you better hope Danny never shows his face around me again because it's a fight at sight."

Frederick is now on life support from the fight until arrangements are made for organ donation. While Frederick's friends insist the fight contributed to his death, they say doctors believe his death may have been due to a previous condition.

"They're trying to say that the blood came from the center of the brain when he was standing here talking one minute and the next he's getting punched in the head and now he's dead. So I'm boggled by it and I think the doctors are wrong. And I want a second opinion about that," said Valdiviez.

Valdiviez is also hoping those who beat up Frederick serve time behind bars.

"Justice. I want.. you kill somebody, you go to jail. That's the way it's supposed to work," he said.

A GoFundMe was started for Frederick and his family just one day ago, already raising more than $8,000.
