GRANDVIEW, Mo. - Grandview Police are investigating a suspected abduction and rape case.
Police said Kevyn M. Jennings, 23, broke into a 37-year-old woman's home in the 11800 block of Newton in Kansas City, Mo. Police said Jennings took the woman from her home at gunpoint and forced her to drive him to a park in Grandview, where police believe he raped the woman.
Police said they found Jennings and woman in her vehicle around 1 a.m. at a bank in Grandview. According to a police news release, Jennings fled on foot across 71 Highway into a wooded area. Grandview Police were assisted in a search for him by Kansas City police officers, two KCPD K-9 units and a helicopter.
Authorities saw Jennings again around 1:50 a.m. Friday near the area of Harry Truman Drive and the west access road. Police said he ran behind a business and fell while trying to jump across a creek. Authorities were able to then arrest him.
Jennings is held on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, theft/stealing, kidnapping, first-degree attempted robbery, two counts of forcible sodomy and four counts of armed criminal action. Bond is set at $250,000.
