KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Armed suspects robbed a group of teenagers at a popular park in Brookside Sunday night.
It's the second time this has happened in less than a month at 57th Street and McGee.
Late Sunday night, a group of teenagers from different areas of the metro, Kansas City, Prairie Village, Overland Park, and Leawood, were robbed by another group at gunpoint at Brookside Park.
Police said the suspects ordered the group of teens on the ground and took their money, phones, purses and jewelry.
One of the suspects tried to get away in the car of one of the teens, but they didn't know how to drive a manual transmission.
The suspects robbed another teen separately.
Kansas City Police said one of the suspects was armed with a shotgun.
Neighbors said they are used to petty crime once in a while in the neighborhood but nothing as violent as this.
"I'm shocked. I don't have a reaction other than it really bothers me so I'm very concerned about that," resident Ken Adams said.
In early July, a couple in their 20s sitting on a park bench was robbed of all of their belongings too at 57th Street and McGee.
No one was hurt, but Kansas City Police are still looking for the suspects who are also described as a group of teenagers.
