KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person is dead after a shooting in southeast Kansas City.
Police were sent to a shooting just before 9 p.m. near 89th Street and Virginia Avenue, where they found a man dead on the sidewalk.
There is no suspect description, but police were still canvasing the area as of 10:40 p.m.
Many people on the scene were upset that the area was blocked off, but would not talk to police.
The city's 2017 homicide toll is now at 104, with four months left in the year.
There were 130 homicides total last year in KCMO.
