Jury finds man guilty of 3 counts of murder in 2011 deaths of three men

LIBERTY, Mo. - A Clay County, Mo., jury took only seven hours to find a Kansas City man guilty in the 2011 murder of three men at a Northland hotel.

On Feb. 26, 2011, three men, Dejan Joksimovic, 18, Armin Hamidovic, 18 and Delfino Elizondo were found shot to death at motel near Interstate 435 and Highway 210.

Jurors found Isaac Pedromo-Paz guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Joksimovic and Hamidovic, and one count of second-degree murder in the death of Elizondo on Friday.

Pedromo-Paz faces life without parole on both of the first-degree murder counts, and a maximum of 30 years in prison on the second-degree murder count. Sentencing is set for Dec. 13.

"This was one of the most brutal crimes in recent Clay County history," said Dan White, Clay County prosecutor.

White said testimony presented at the trial indicated that Pedromo-Paz hilled Hamidovic because he was sitting too close to Pedromo-Paz's girlfriend on the motel room bed. Joksimovic and Elizondo were killed, according to White, likely because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
