KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Charges have been filed against a KCK man in the connection with the fatal crash that killed 62-year-old Graciela Olivas.
Christopher Bradley Stewart, 28, is charged with first degree murder, fleeing to elude police, and with interference with a law enforcement officer.
The Kansas Highway patrol state that Kansas City, Kan., police tried to pull over Stewart after he committed several traffic violations on Shawnee Drive.
They believe he ran the stop sign at 34th and Shawnee Drive. He ended up ramming into the driver's side of a Chevy Cobalt, pushing it into nearby ditch.
Investigators said Stewart tried to run away on foot but was quickly caught.
Stewart will make his first court appearance in November 2014. His bond is set at $1 million.
On Thursday, a vigil was held for Olivas, where loved ones gathered to honor her memory at 34th and Shawnee Drive.
