One dead, three hurt in rollling gun battle in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A rolling gun battle Friday night left one woman dead and three people injured.

Officers were on their way to a shooting call just before 10 p.m. in the 2800 block of Bales Avenue.

The officers saw aftermath of a traffic crash at East 27th Street and Indiana Avenue.

They found a man and woman with gunshot wounds inside that vehicle, according to a Kansas City Police Department statement.

Other officers went to the shooting scene on Bales and found a gunshot victim there.

They were later notified about a fourth victim who had been dropped off at a hospital.

The woman found in the car later died. Police have identified her as 35-year-old Ayanna Saunders.

The other three suffered serious injuries.

Police said the victims shot at each other from cars near East 28th Street and Bales Avenue.

The dead woman's name has not been released.
