Sex offender accused of producing child pornography from inside Kansas mental hospital

WICHITA, Kan. - A 33-year-old man already at a state mental hospital for being a registered sex offender has been charged with producing child porn.

Federal prosecutors announced Wednesday four charges against Christopher M. Case, including two counts of producing child pornography and two counts of sending obscene material to a child.

The charges stem from three incidents in 2011 and one incident in 2012 while Case was committed to the Sexual Predator Unit at Larned State Hospital in Kansas.

During Dec. 2011 and Jan. 2012, prosecutors allege Case enticed a 15-year-old child and a 13-year-old child to engage in a sexual act to make a video to be transmitted on the internet. During the same period, Case is accused of sending video of himself in a sexual act to the 13-year-old child.

Case was previously listed as a sex offender from aggravated indecent solicitation of a child from 2003 in Saline County, Kan.
