OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Police have arrested and charged a suspect in September's drive-by shooting in Overland Park.
Phillip R. Bennett, 27, was charged in the shooting on Thursday which left an 8-year-old boy hospitalized.
Neighbors around 100th and Kessler said they heard six gunshots on that night. They also said they had never seen that kind of violence in their neighborhood before.
Prosecutors haven't released a motive in the shooting or said who the target was.
Bennett is currently being held in Johnson County Jail on $100,000 bond. His first court appearance is set for Friday afternoon.
