Police investigate potential links in three Johnson County gas station robberies

LENEXA, Kan. - Lenexa police think the same man robbed two convenience stores early Monday morning, and possibly a third store in Mission.

A man entered JB's One Stop convenience store at 13094 W. 95th St., at about at about 4:15 a.m.

The man approached the counter and asked for cigarettes, told the clerk he had a gun and demanded cash.

The clerk told the man he was calling police, and the suspect left.

About seven minutes later, the Quik Trip at 11070 Pflumm was robbed by the same man.

This time the man showed a box knife and demanded cigarettes and cash.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5'-10", weighting 170 pounds. He had a dark stocking hat, a dark wool jacket, and left in a red 90s model car.

Two hours earlier, just before 2 a.m. Monday, Mission police report a man robbed the Quik Trip at 4700 Lamar.

Police there say a black male with a moustache standing about 5'10"  and 170 pounds entered and demanded cash.

But police say his clothing description did not match the Lenexa robberies, but the description is similar.

They are trying to determine if it's the same man.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Lenexa Police Department.
