WARRENSBURG, Mo. - More than 1,000 people huddled around Molly's Bar in downtown Warrensburg, Mo., on Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil honoring Blaine Whitworth.
The 25-year-old businessman and bar owner was found shot to death Saturday night in front of his home. Two men were charged with first-degree murder in his death Wednesday afternoon.
Police had to block off parts of downtown to accommodate the crowd. Family members, including Whitworth's mother Diane, spoke to the mourners about his "giving heart and million-dollar smile."
As the guests walked up to the vigil, they were giving a memorial card that had Whitworth's picture and the words "Go big or go home" printed on it.
"That was the way he lived his life," explained his father, Barry Whitworth. "He did everything 110 percent of nothing. That was the theme at his service. He went big, and now he's gone home."
