Naked man arrested after running from police, jumping into the Blue River

Pursuit started after prowler report

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A suspected prowler is in custody after he fled from police and jumped in the Blue River Tuesday morning.

Police received a report of car prowler near 12th Street and Corrington Avenue, west of Interstate 435, just before 9 a.m.

The man, who police think may have been high, jumped into the river to elude police. Authorities lost sight of the suspect for a few minutes before he was taken into custody by the river bank.

Skytracker video showed a police officer remove his vest and swim across the river to the suspect before he was arrested. He was met by a second officer in the water. The suspect had removed all of his clothing by the time police reached him.

He was taken into custody around 9:45 a.m.
