KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dozens of people gathered at the scene of a double shooting at 39th and Baltimore which left one person dead and another injured on Friday night.
Police were called out to a barbershop near the intersection just before 8 p.m.
When they arrived, they found one male dead of a gunshot wound. A female was transported to an area hospital in serious conditions. Police say her injuries were life-threatening.
Authorities say the shooting happened at a nearby barber shop. They also say a suspect fled on-foot.
A Metro bus with people on board was held for questioning after passengers witnessed the shooting.
A woman claiming to be an aunt of the victim said her nephew was only 24-years-old.
39th Street is closed west of Main as officers investigate the scene further.
Police have not released a description of the suspect.
