UPDATE: Suspect charged following fatal stabbing in KCMO

UPDATE: Brian K. Morrow, 56, has been charged in the Saturday night fatal stabbing of Isaiah Jones, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Morrow faces felony charges of 2nd degree murder and armed criminal action.

According to court records, witnesses told police that the suspect and the victim had been in an argument. The victim struck the defendant and then the defendant stabbed the victim. One witness told police that just before the physical altercation between the two men, the defendant stated, "I'm gonna cut him."

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $500,000.

Police say Morrow turned himself on Saturday.

Officers were called to 30th Terrace and College just after 9:30 p.m. Friday evening. 

Upon arrival, authorities found a male victim lying in the street. Officials declared the victim deceased upon arrival. The victim has been identified as Isaiah N. Jones, 20, of Kansas City, Missouri. 

Witnesses state the victim and suspect were in a verbal argument  prior to the fight becoming physical.

The suspect is not in custody at this time.

KCPD has identified the suspect as Brian Morrow, but he goes by Kevin. Officials believe Morrow is armed and left the scene in a yellow Nissan Xterra. The Missouri license plates could be 00U-MVE or KM0-J3V.
