Heading West on 23rd Street, the suspect kept going and just more than three miles from the origin of the chase, crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of 23rd Street and Hardesty.
The crash killed the driver of that car, a 35-year-old man, and sent a 35-year-old female passenger to the hospital in critical condition, according to police. A 17-year-old female passenger, who was in the back seat, was sent to the hospital in serious condition.
"It's horrific, that's what it is. It's horrific," witness Nicole Epperson said.
Another witnesses said the suspect took off on foot after the crash.
"I guess the guy ran that way trying to go into a store and he came out with his shirt off trying to be normal and play it cool," witness Tim Knight said.
Police arrested the suspect shortly after the incident but did not immediately release his name.
