LAWRENCE, Kan. — A third person has been taken into custody in connection with an October 1 shooting that left three people dead and injured two others.

The shooting happened along Massachusetts Street near 11st Street in downtown Lawrence. The victims were identified as Leah Brown, 22, from Shawnee, Colwin Henderson, 20, and Tre’Mel Dean, 24, both from Topeka.

Lawrence police said the third suspect, Anthony Laron Roberts Jr., was taken into custody in Kansas City, Missouri, by the U.S. Marshals earlier Wednesday. Upon extradition to Douglas County, Roberts will be booked on an arrest warrant from Douglas County District Court for one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and one count of attempted second-degree murder. Lawrence police said it isn't known at this time when Roberts will be extradited.

On Tuesday, Lawrence police announced the arrests of two Topeka men, 19-year-old Dominique McMillon and 22-year-old Ahmad Rayton, for their suspected roles in the incident. McMillon faces aggravated assault and battery charges. Rayton faces an attempted second-degree murder charge.
