Three arrested in Rent-A-Center burglary

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City police arrested three people following a burglary Tuesday morning  at Rent-A-Center.

The three are in the Jackson County Jail facing possible burglary charges after being arrested around 3:30 a.m.

According to police, one of the people arrested used a couch as a ladder to climb onto the roof of the store at 77th and Troost. He then came into the store from the ceiling and opened the back door.

A silent alarm alerted police who were on the scene within three minutes. 

Police say the suspects tried to get away in a minivan, but after a short police, chase all three were apprehended and arrested.

Two television sets that were stolen were returned to the Rent-A-Center.
