This latest violent act in this neighborhood has business owners and community leaders upset.
"It kinda disappoints me as a business owner to know that these type of things are being said about 18th and Vine," Antonio Bradshaw, owner of Knockout Chicken and Fish on 18th and Vine said.
He once again finds himself defending his neighborhood. This time for Saturday's shooting that happened just around the corner from Bradshaw.
There have been similar shootings in the past.
In January, two people were shot at a club near 19th and Vine. Police said it started after a fight over a girl, however no one died.
Last September, four people were shot near 18th and Vine.
"It's the one or two times that they may have happened," Bradshaw said. "It's giving this block a bad name; not just this district but this block."
Alvin Brooks, founder of the Ad Hoc Group, used to patrol this area as a police officer back in 1954.
"There were disturbances, but violence the way it is today is unheard of," Brooks said.
His message is one of change.
"There has to be a real movement afoot this nation that guns are not the way," Brooks said.
Police believe all shots from the incident on Saturday were fired by the two to three people inside the car. Officers were not able to get a description of the vehicle or those suspects.
