KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two men have been charged in the murder of a barber.
The shooting occurred at Barbershop 67 at 34th and Troost about 6:10 p.m. Wednesday.
Georgio M. White, 19, and David O. Waters, 22, each face second degree murder, attempted robbery in the first degree and two counts of armed criminal action in the death of Joe Jackson,53.
According to police, they were lead to the suspects after seeing surveillance video from nearby businesses that showed the men entering an apartment complex. The video also showed the men trying to clean up a trail of blood leading away from the barbershop.
At the complex, police found blood and followed its trail to an apartment.
Police later arrested White and Waters. They are being held on $250,000 bond.
According to police, White told them he and Waters waited until they believed the last customer had left the shop, then walked in and asked about a haircut. White then demanded money from Jackson. After Jackson pulled money out of his pocket, he grabbed White's left arm. White pulled a gun and shot Jackson, also shooting himself. When White was picked up he had a gunshot wound in his left forearm.
