Warrensburg School District IT director charged in child sex crime

JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. - Darron J. Chapman, an IT director at the Warrensburg School District, has been charged with statutory rape after reportedly having sex with a child under the age of 12, according to a felony complaint from the Johnson County, Mo., Court.

Chapman is also charged with four counts of statutory sodomy.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Patrick said Chapman submitted his resignation to the school board last week, which the board accepted.

Patrick said he was not aware of the specific charges against Chapman other than he is no longer an employee at the district.

Chapman has been arrested and is being transported to the Johnson County, Mo., jail where he will be held on $500,000 bond.
