A woman accused a man of stealing her cell phone and cigarettes. On Tuesday, prosecutors accused her of murder.

Clarisa D. Baldwin, 35, of Kansas City, is charged in Jackson County Court with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing of George J. Hamilton.

Court documents say witnesses told police Baldwin was arguing with Hamilton about 10:20 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of East 35th Street.

A witness said when Baldwin was asked to leave Hamilton alone, she refused and stabbed Hamilton several times with a large knife, court documents state.

A man with Baldwin named Jackson Konnell was also charged in the murder. He was seen exchanging blows with Hamilton, while Baldwin continued to stab him.

Konnell admitted to police he later searched the victim's pockets for PCP laced cigarettes.

Officers found Hamilton unresponsive on a sidewalk. He died a short time later at a hospital.

Police officers found Baldwin early Tuesday in the 3300 block of Prospect Ave. Officers noted she had cuts on her arms and blood on her clothes, according to court documents.

She refused to talk to homicide detectives.

Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000.
