BLUE SPRINGS, Mo - The Blue Springs School District filed what is expected to be just the first appeal in the Kansas City Public Schools transfer lawsuit on Friday.
On Thursday, a judge
handed down a split decision
on which districts could take in students from the unaccredited school district and which ones didn't have to.
Blue Springs was among the school districts that the judge said would not have to deal with any extra costs so it could take the students in, a position the district is unhappy with.
A total of five districts were involved in the original suit: Blue Springs, Independence, Lee's Summit, North Kansas City and Raytown.
