KC radio personality takes case of special needs kids to the airwaves

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - A Kansas City radio personality is taking the case of some special needs kids to the airwaves.

The Kansas City Missouri School District wants to close R.J. Delano - the district's only special needs school.

96.5 KRBZ personality "Danny Boi" has been talking about the school and the children on his radio show ever since he saw the report on NBC Action News .

It's been a hot topic all week.

"I said something about that ... I didn't realize it was going to cause such a controversy. I didn't realize taking care of people who needed to be taken care of, I can't believe that's controversial to be honest with you," said Danny Boi.

Danny Boi is urging listeners who support the school to attend the next public meeting about the Delano closing.

The meeting is Monday at 6 p.m. at the East High School Annex.
