KCMO police called to SWECC on report of security officer pushed down stairs

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - A school security officer is OK after being pushed down a flight of stairs Wednesday during a disturbance.

Kansas City police were called to Southwest Early College Campus, 6512 Wornall Road, around 12:30 p.m. to assist an officer.

According to KCMO police spokesman Darin Snapp, a female security officer was pushed down a flight of stairs during a disturbance at the school.

When KCMO police arrived at the school, the situation was over.

No one was arrested. Snapp says the security officer is OK.

Larry Seward was at the Kansas City Missouri School District School Board meeting Wednesday and KCMSD Superintendent Dr. John Covington said the district is going to start an “Options Program” in response to the academic and behavioral issues around the district – and specifically at SWECC.
