KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri Governor Jay Nixon said education is a top priority in his 2015 budget proposal.
Nixon visited students at Center High School Monday where he talked about creating more jobs through education by improving science and technology education.
He also said by investing in education, we're investing in our economy.
"We need to fully fund a foundation formula, we need to keep tuition low, we need to expand preschool opportunities and we're already a low tax state. I've cut taxes four times," Nixon said.
Nixon's budget proposal includes an increase of $278 million for kindergarten through 12 th grade.
