RAYTOWN, Missouri - Students involved in extracurricular activities at both Raytown high schools will now be drug tested.
Monday night the School Board voted in favor of the drug testing.
The testing will be random and applies to high school students who have a parking permit, are involved in athletics, orchestra and other extracurricular activities.
Officials will test at least once during a sports season and about 12 to 13 students will be tested each time.
The next step for the district is to contract with a company to determine who will do testing.
The plan goes into place in the upcoming school year.
