KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UMKC students are cranking up the tunes!
The college now has an online streaming radio station called K-ROO.
It has been on the air for three months now.
Students run all aspects of the station, including all the content and music played. The music includes hip-hop, alternative and some jazz. They also cover sporting events.
The students hope to expand to offer news in the future.
"The first broadcast we ever did it was just a game, there was nothing behind it, and now we have people every day coming through the door who want to learn and we're starting to fill every spot of the rotation," said Sports Director Couy Tapp. "It's growing the last two weeks especially."
Besides streaming on laptop and desktop at k-roo.org, there are also apple and android apps.
