Anthony Dunlap's family members spent Tuesday making funeral arrangements.

Dunlap was killed in a crash Monday morning on MO-291 near Salisbury Road in Independence. Michael Smith, Dunlap's friend, was also killed in that crash.

Dunlap's sister, Celeste Dunlap, called her brother a wonderful son who loved his nephew.

Anthony Dunlap, 19, graduated last month from Grain Valley High School.

"It was a big moment for our family because he promised our mom that he would give her a full blown graduation. He was the first one in our family to walk since my mom," said Celeste Dunlap.

About 400 people attended a memorial in Anthony Dunlap's honor Monday night. Relatives said that Anthony Dunlap was likely the designated driver and was out with three of his friends that night.

“He was on his way home because he was going to start a new job Monday and he was very excited about it," said Celeste Dunlap.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses.

"My brother would probably tell us to quit crying and love each other and hold each other," Celeste Dunlap said.

Two other friends who were in the car were injured and are expected to be OK.
