Hundreds of students skipped the car ride and bus this morning, choosing to walk to school instead.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Hundreds of metro students skipped the bus and the car ride Wednesday morning and chose to walk to school instead. Wednesday marked international Walk to School Day.
Over 30 local schools participated, including Crestview Elementary School.
School leaders said it's all about fitness and family.
"This gives them an opportunity to not only participate in P.E., but to come together with their parents to do something as a family," Principal Deyrle Wallace said.
The event promotes living a healthy lifestyle and a cleaner environment.
