Hundreds of Avila University students volunteer at Harvesters

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - More than 200 Avila University students spent Tuesday volunteering at Harvesters in Kansas City.

They packaged things like pasta, carrots and other foods, which will be donated to people all around the metro.

"I think it's really important because it's needed," said Avila freshman Rebekah Juarez. "You don't want people to go hungry, so I feel like it's a really great thing that they do."

According to Avila, this was one of the largest single groups to ever volunteer at Harvesters at one time.
