KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Four volleyball powerhouses are preparing to give it their all in Kansas City this weekend. Penn State, Stanford, Nebraska and Florida are all hoping to win the NCAA championship.

And this year, two familiar faces will be walking onto the court.

Stanford Cardinal setter Jenna Gray is from Shawnee and middle blocker Audriana Fitzmorris is from Overland Park. Both sophomores have been teammates since high school, where they attended St. James Academy before heading west for college.

“I’m used to having maybe my parents at a match or a couple other relatives so it’s going to be fun having a nice crowd that I know,” said Gray.

The athletes have been essential to Stanford’s roster, helping the team win the National Championship last year.

They both tell 41 Action News they hope to do it again on their “home turf.”

“It means so much more to play in front of friends and family,” said Fitzmorris.
