2017 Figure Skating Championships coming to KC

U.S. Figure Skating announced Wednesday that it has chosen Kansas City for the 2017 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

The 2017 U.S. Championships are slated for Jan. 14 to Jan. 22, 2017, with all junior and championships level events being held at Sprint Center and all juvenile, intermediate and novice events being conducted at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Mo.

The U.S. Figure Skating Championships generate an estimated economic impact in the millions and attract more than 100,000 spectators annually, according to a proposal form from U.S. Figure Skating.

The 2017 U.S. Championships will be broadcast by NBC Sports with additional coverage on U.S. Figure Skating’s Icenetwork.com.

All-event tickets for the 2017 U.S. Championships will go on sale Thursday, Dec. 17.
