Kansas City is the crossroads of America. That includes for things like drug trafficking.

Two times this month suspects from the West Coast were caught smuggling Meth and Fentanyl across the country.

The KC metro wasn’t their destination, but they were arrested here.

Federal Documents show that on July 3, a woman hopped on a Greyhound bus from California to Arkansas.

While stopped in Kansas City officials found an abandoned bag.

The report says later in the day a woman called police saying that she agreed to carry the bag for someone else.

When they checked, KCPD found 10 pounds of Meth inside.

On July 5 it happened again.

Police stopped a man and woman that had a suspicious looking bag.

When they checked the bag they found 10 pounds of Meth and Fentanyl. The woman also had an additional five pounds of meth on her.

This isn’t the first-time meth was found at the Greyhound station.

According to a Federal Indictment from April, a man leaving Nevada was on the bus heading to Indianapolis.

While in the metro, police found a pound of meth in a pair of jeans.

41 Action News reached out to KCPD and they say at this time they have no comment.

Greyhound Lines Inc. released the following statement:

"The safety of our customers is the cornerstone of our business, and to ensure that our customers remain safe, we work closely with law enforcement authorities, including the Drug Enforcement Agency, which conducts routine bus and baggage inspections to make sure prohibited items aren’t onboard.

If prohibited items, such as drugs, alcohol or weapons are found onboard, the local authorities will remove the customer in possession of those items from the bus or station. If a driver observes prohibited items while en route, the driver will pull over to a safe location, remove the customer and contact the local authorities. We fully cooperate with the authorities during this process."
