KANSAS CITY, Mo. - What a week they've had at KC Pet Project. But they've endured with smiles on their faces.
They lost electricity, air conditioning, and phone service. They even had surgeries performed by flashlight. All this happened at KC Pet Project while they had no room to spare.
Just before they lost power, they took in about 70 cats removed from two Northland apartments . They worked with paper and pen until the power came back on and Sprint came to the rescue with wireless routers.
All of this happened on the eve of their big $25 adoption event this weekend to make space after taking in so many cats. The main shelter still can't take calls but their satellite locations are fully functioning.
Their website is operational and you can find more information about the event and their efforts .
