Bonner Springs boy close to doodling his way onto Google homepage

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. - A Bonner Springs boy is one step closer to seeing his artwork on the Google home page.

Fourth grader Colin Garner created a beautiful piece called "Peanut Detector."

"Since some people are allergic to peanuts, my invention can make it so that people who are allergic, can eat peanuts safely, " Garner said.

Google named him the Kansas state finalist in its "Google 4 Doodle" competition.

The national winner gets a $30,000 college scholarship. The winner will also visit Google headquarters to design the website animation.
