A man drove off the Lake Waukomis roadway and into a ravine next to the lake early Monday morning.
Police were called to the 700 block of North Shore Drive just before 6:30 a.m.
Officers said a man who knows the lake roadways drove off the road and down a deep ravine.
He was able to get out of the car and refused an ambulance, but he went to an area hospital by private vehicle.
Initial reports indicated the car was in the lake, but the vehicle ended up on the opposite side of the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
