KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Overnight storms created a dangerous situation for some drivers.
41 Action News crews were there as several drivers had to be rescued from high water from the area of Choteau, just south of Front Street. That's an area where flooding occurs frequently. One driver even bailed on his vehicle, leaving it at Manchester and Wilson.
It was also slow-going for drivers trying to plow their way through high water at Van Brunt, just east of Prospect. Several inches of rain collected on those roadways.
41 Action News also received reports of high water in Lee's Summit, near Market Street at Purcell.
Transportation officials are urging people to drive around any high water areas since it is extremely difficult to tell how deep the water is.
Indian Creek and Brush Creek levels also registered high early Tuesday morning, but no flooding has been reported.
