An 11-year-old child was approached Wednesday afternoon and asked to get into the van belonging to somebody she didn't know, according to Kansas City police.
The child was walking her dog on West 53rd Street near Loose Park when she was approached by a man who asked where she lived. When she ignored him, police said, he pulled alongside her and told her to get in the van. She ran for home and the man left.
A physical description of the man is limited, but he did have sleeve tattoos on both arms and appeared to be in his mid-30s. He was driving a black cargo van with darkened windows. The van had a grey/yellow stripe around part of the van and duct tape on the rear of the vehicles. The initials "F.C." were written on the tape.
Anybody with information about the man or his van are asked to contact police.
